Nollywood actress Bukola Arugba has publicly rebuked Kwara State’s First Lady, Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq, in the aftermath of a brutal bandit attack on Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.

Arugba, whose family hails from the community, expressed profound anguish in a video message, revealing that several of her cousins were abducted during the attack. “Three to four of my cousins are in the bandits’ den. We don’t know if they’ll be found alive or dead,” she said, calling on the government to treat the incident with the severity it deserves.

Her remarks followed comments by the First Lady, who referred to the assault as “attempted.” Arugba strongly rejected this characterisation, accusing the state leadership of downplaying the tragedy.

The attack, which occurred during evening service at CAC Oke-Isegun around 6 p.m. on November 18, reportedly resulted in three confirmed deaths and the abduction of numerous worshippers.
Local leaders say the number of kidnapped persons could be higher.

In response to the violence, soldiers have been deployed to Eruku, authorities confirm, as joint teams of police and vigilantes comb the surrounding forests in search of the attackers and the missing.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has appealed to the federal government for additional security reinforcements, including more troops, to stabilize the area.

Arugba’s emotional plea and her direct challenge to the state’s elite has ignited broader calls for accountability and a stronger, long-term security strategy in Eruku and similar vulnerable communities.
