Knorr Spices Up Big Screen: Flavor Brand Backs Red Circle’s Film Launch with Bold Collaboration

In a groundbreaking fusion of food and film, global flavor powerhouse Knorr has partnered with emerging production studio Red Circle Pictures to mark the latter’s cinematic debut, setting a new benchmark for brand integration in entertainment marketing.

The film, Red Circle: Origins, a stylish, action-packed thriller, premiered last weekend to a sold-out audience in Johannesburg, and behind its high-octane sequences and compelling storytelling was an unexpected ingredient Knorr’s creative branding.

The collaboration, part of Knorr’s “Turn Up the Flavour” campaign, infused the film’s rollout with culinary flair. From on-set catering inspired by Knorr’s signature recipe base to exclusive promotional food kits tied to characters in the film, the integration was far from product placement it was narrative-aligned brand storytelling.

A Flavourful Premiere Experience

At the red-carpet event, guests were treated to immersive food experiences. Each dish served was designed to reflect the personalities of the main characters, all prepared using Knorr’s new “Essence of Flavour” range. Social media buzz exploded as influencers and celebrities shared their gourmet experiences, with hashtags like #TurnUpTheFlavour and #RedCircleFilm trending across platforms.

“This was about more than slapping a logo on a poster,” said Kgomotso Molefe, Knorr South Africa’s Marketing Lead. “It was about celebrating bold creativity whether that’s in a recipe or on a movie screen.”

Redefining Brand Collaborations in Entertainment

Knorr’s move comes amid a rising trend of FMCG brands moving into cultural spaces to deepen consumer engagement. By aligning with a stylish, Afrocentric action franchise, Knorr positions itself not just as a kitchen staple but as a lifestyle curator.

Sipho Dlamini, executive producer at Red Circle, called the partnership “refreshingly bold,” noting that the alignment felt organic. “We both value boldness Knorr in flavour, us in storytelling. This partnership helped elevate both brands,” he said.

Looking Ahead

With Red Circle: Origins already greenlit for an international streaming release, and Knorr’s campaign drawing record engagement metrics, both companies appear poised for continued success.

“This is just the beginning,” Molefe hinted. “The future of flavour is cinematic.”
